Got the lens and the flash today

Allright so i got the Tamron 17-50mm f2,8 today. Its great. ill post a full review once used it in field. Also the flash seems nice. havent got the i-TTL kontroll to work. but it works fine with TTL. (through the lens) review later on that too.

Ive decided on the lens

Ive decided to go with the tamron lens cause it seems much sharper then the sigma lens
the price is about 4200 Swedish kronor. Complete with the flash and some filters it comes to
6000 kronor.

Testing out the closerange sharpness. Looks fine even at F2,8

This is totally unedited. Love the Saturation. A little vignetting but i can live with that.

This shot is a little dark. But still proof of a well functioning lens.

I Always been sceptical about lenses that are stuck on one focal lenght. I always though a zoomlens is better to buy because of the good focalrange you can get out of them. Tis was not the case with this lens. I tested it for a few hours today and its great. Probebly thes sharpest lens i ever had.

The bad stuff: Aparture only goes to f16

Tamron AF SP 17-50mm F2,8 XR Di II LD


Sigma EX 18-50mm f2,8 DC Macro HSM

They seem to be basicly the same. ive read some stuff about both of them that are good and less good. The sharpness seems to e quite close to canon L series lenses.

Anyone who can decide for me cause im having a hard time!

New Camera and lens.

Ok i just got my ordered Nikon D2X Camera.

Some of its featues are a 12,4mpixel Cmos sensor with a 1,5x focallengt multiplier.
Highspeedmode with 8 exposures per second. Iso High = 3200 Iso low = 100 Its pretty smooth.
For Canon nerds its a mix between eos 1ds mark 2 and 1d mark 2 since its high resolution and highspeed abilities.


I also orderd a wide angle Makinon 28mm f2,8 lens to start out with.I will get a zoom in the range of 17 - 50mm and a 8 mm Fisheye. Also a couple of flashguns to go with it. Ill start out with http://www.cyberphoto.se/info.php?article=DAF42N that one (swedish site) seems to keep up with the much more expensive nikonflashes.!

In the sample pics below i used a Nikon D60 with an AF-S DX VR NIKKOR 18‒55mm f3.5with a Sunpak pf30x flash and a backup 55-200mm Tamron lens.

This kit worked out pretty good to start with but i decided to get a new one so now im using a nikon D2X Camera Ill post kit updates later!
